The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled starting pitcher Walker Buehler ahead of Friday's game against the San Diego Padres.

striking, out 11 batters with just two runs allowed in 10 innings.

He. is 1-0 and will start Friday's game, which is being played in Mexico.

Though Buehler has been sent back down to the minors after both his previous starts,

he has the chance to remain in Los Angeles' rotation this time

around with Ryu Hyun-jin sidelined until after the All-Star break with a groin injury.

The Dodgers (14-17) need something positive to happen after losing
star shortstop Corey Seager for the season due to Tommy John surgery.

Buehler, the 12th-ranked prospect on MLB.com, has an upper-90s fastball and nasty curveball.

Braves send SS Swanson to the 10-day DL

Dansby Swanson is battling a wrist injury in a blow to the Atlanta Braves in MLB.

The Atlanta Braves sent shortstop Dansby Swanson to the 10-day disabled list with left wrist inflammation.

In a corresponding move, Atlanta recalled outfielder Preston Tucker from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Swanson, 24, a former top prospect, struggled last year – his first full MLB season – but had shown

signs of promise early this year, batting .289 with two home runs and two stolen bases through 28 games.

Atlanta has displayed an impressive number of young, talented players this season,

led by Ronald Acuna Jr., Ozzie Albies, Sean Newcomb and Swanson

The Braves (19-11) currently lead the National League East by 1.5 games over the Mets,
but they will have to find a temporary replacement for Swanson's offensive and defensive prowess.
