AC Milan situation has proved FFP works - UEFA president Ceferin
UEFA's president, Alexander Ceferin, said that the suspension of AC Milan in the Champions League and their subsequent return to the competition proves that the financial fair play was successful.
Milan suspended competition in secondary Europe in June, only that this decision should be destroyed after the change of ownership of the giants Serie A.
"The rules have helped many clubs improve their financial stability, forcing them to spend no more than they are earning.
"The result was undoubtedly an improvement in health for European football. The system is independent and I think everyone should appreciate the fact that the case has shown that Milan Fair Play's business operations. "
Ceferin added that responsibility at the moment is the responsibility of the managing body to ensure that the most stringent rules are still applied, particularly with regard to agents' fees.
"Now is the time to take the next step, therefore, recently tightened norms, increasing transparency by clubs forcing them to publish financial information, including brokerage commissions.
"There will be more transparency in transfers and I can assure you that each team will be judged by the same criteria. We are also ready to act with the help of new financial indicators that allow us to tighten controls to balance.
"I am convinced that this is another step in the right direction to ensure the financial stability of European football".
Milan had to launch the Serie A campaign against Genoa on Sunday, but this meeting was postponed after the collapse of the Morandi Bridge.
